California Workforce Investment Board

The CalWIB was established to advise and assist in planning, coordination and implementing the provisions of California’s workforce development programs and services. The board members represent many facets of workforce development, business, labor, public education, higher education, economic development, youth activities, employment and training. They are charged with developing a comprehensive youth development system that serves all youth, builds on existing programs and networks and works specifically with the State Youth Council.

New Ways is a team of experienced and dedicated professionals focused on improving the lives of our nation’s youth. New Ways helps communities build systems that connect schools, community organizations and businesses and improve the services, educational programs and support the community provides for its youth. New Ways creates the environment and guides a process that brings the right people together with customized tools for powerful learning and dramatic change. Building on “the best stuff out there,” New Ways engages and supports local communities in the invention and renewal of connected, comprehensive youth-serving systems.


California Institute on Human Services

The California Institute on Human Services (CIHS), located at Sonoma State University, is committed to improving the quality of people’s lives by acting as an agent of change in support of excellence in education and human services. CIHS is dedicated to translating research and best practices into quality services for all children and their families. Its impact is felt at Sonoma State University, within the local community, regionally, statewide, and nationally.
